Meet the 2019 Board

The Jaycees Board stays active with monthly meetings and quarterly objectives, all to serve you - the members - better!

Ken Cikanovich President

I am a native of Annapolis and I have been a member of the Annapolis Jaycees since 2014. What I love most about the Jaycees is the Community Involvement. Fun facts about me - I'm an avid sports enthusiast, active athlete, and brew my own beer.

Shaun Owens, VP

Individual Development

This is my third year as a Jaycee and my second on the board. I'm looking forward to helping all of our members achieve the goals they hope to achieve through Jaycee membership and personally love the environmental impact we can have as a group. I'm from Maryland but have also lived in Louisiana, Texas and Alaska. It's good to be home!

Heidi Bucheister, VP Membership

Heidi, originally from a small town in New York, is the Vice President of Membership for the Annapolis Jaycees. Heidi joined the Jaycees to serve her new community and meet new people after moving from DC to Annapolis in 2017. Her favorite Annapolis Jaycees event is the Special Olympics. Aside from volunteering, Heidi enjoys playing in social sports leagues, hiking, and learning about issues impacting our communities nationwide. A fun fact about Heidi is that she has been to both Heidiland in Switzerland and Heidi's Village in Japan.

Christina Gutierrez Treasurer

Christina has been with the Annapolis Chapter for over 10 years. She has served in every role from Treasurer to President and everything in between. She enjoys leading teams at Hanging of the Greens and running events at Special Olympics.

Alexus Viegas Chairwoman

Originally from Saint Louis, Missouri, I joined the Annapolis Jaycees because I was looking to make friends and give back and the Jaycees allowed me to do both at the same time! I love being a Jaycee for so many reasons - the people, the activities, the connections to the community - and this is why I have served on the board as MVP, CDVP, and President. I want to work to give back to the organization that has given me so much to me.
